CAS integration in subject activity of DP1 DT and CS students

MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul always provides opportunities to students for their ATL skill development, thereby enabling them to acquire the life skills of thinking, research, communication, social and self management.
On 27/01/2023, the DP1 students of Design Technology and Computer Science presented a unique way of their subject knowledge. They were provided opportunities of performing skit, writing and presenting poetry or article or compose and perform song and dance related to the usage of subject terminologies and their concept.
It was an excellent session with students showing their passion with innovative approaches related to their subject knowledge.
Few of the student reflections on the activity:
Manavv Desai
“The skit experience was nice, as we made the skit with the idea of sustainability and terms that we learned in design technology. The topic that we used is on Ergonomics that my friend Armaan gave the definition in a simple and easy way to understand. ”
Arnish Raiji
I think it was a great activity for cas. It allowed us to revise the terminology while creating a script and report that was meant for someone who wasn’t aware of Design and Technology. It create a great refresher for us and the team because he had to search on each topic and it created new knowledge in us and allowed us to remember the previous topics we may have forgotten key points about.
Lakshya Oswal
“A design technology song is a unique blend of creative design and innovative technology that can be used to express a wide range of emotions and ideas. The song can be used to convey a message of hope, inspiration, or even protest. The use of technology in the design of the song can help to create an immersive and interactive experience for the listener.
One of the main strengths of a design technology song is its ability to engage the audience in a way that traditional forms of music cannot. The use of cutting-edge technology such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence can help to create a truly immersive experience that can transport the listener to a different place and time. This can be particularly powerful when the song is used to address important social or political issues.
However, the use of technology in the design of a song can also have its drawbacks. The reliance on technology can sometimes make the song feel impersonal or disconnected from the listener. Additionally, the use of technology can also make it more difficult for the listener to connect with the lyrics and the message of the song.
Overall, a design technology song is a powerful tool for expressing emotions and ideas in a unique and engaging way. However, it is important to use technology thoughtfully and in a way that truly enhances the listening experience, rather than detracting from it.”
Jainam Oswal:
Great activity, It involved critical design thinking and outcome, identifying areas for improvement, and making adjustments to the design process to produce better results. This can include using feedback from users and stakeholders, as well as data and metrics collected during the design process, to inform future designs.
Kavya Shetiya
“The skit allows for creative expression and the use of visual and performance elements to convey information in an engaging and memorable way.One potential benefit of using a skit in a design technology activity is that it allows for hands-on learning and experimentation with different technologies and design elements. We explored and experimented with different tools and techniques in a safe and controlled environment, and can receive immediate feedback on their work.”
Aadi Kankariya:
“The activity was really fun and interesting to work with.”
